Death Valley
National Monument has become famous for several things, but most prominently would be it
is the lowest dry point below sea level in the Western Hemisphere (-282 feet).
Dante's View, at 5,474 feet, offers a vista of nearly all of Death Valley. Badwater, at
-282 feet below sea level, is the lowest point in the United States.

places on earth. The 120-Mile-long desert park contains various animal, plant life,
sand dunes and volcanic craters. |

There are more than
1,500 campsites in the 3.4-million-acre park. Some campgrounds are in the desert, with
planted shade trees and drinking water available.
For your
enjoyment, Death Valley Park and Visitor Center is open year-round. For those who
like the sun, this area in the summer is perfect.
